Walking Wisdom

Walking Wisdom is a memoir of spirituality across three generations. Looking back as a new father, Gotham Chopra considers the lessons he wishes to pass to his own son. When reflecting back on the strongest influences in his life, the first was no surprise: his father. But the second was unexpected: his dogs.

Growing up, Gotham Chopra and his sister were exposed to everything from the Bible to biology, from the Bhagavad Gita to Brave New World. They were also the ubiquitous and unwitting guinea pigs for their physician father's endless spiritual experiments. Gotham's childhood was part spiritual, part scientific and totally unique, but somehow he ended up (relatively) normal. Walking Wisdom is a poignant and powerful narrative that chronicles all of the love and licks that come with having a dog, along with the contradictions, complexities and the consequences of having children.
