I want to thrive, and I want to create new systems and structures for educational, political, economic, and community freedom. #2 To matter to yourself and your students, you must matter enough to fight for justice. To dark people, that is often difficult to conceptualize, given how they are treated by their country. #3 Intersectionality is the idea that different identities, such as race, gender, and sexuality, can interact with each other and affect how a person is treated in a given situation. It is not just about listing and naming your identities, but about understanding community power and inclusivity in social justice movements. #4 Intersectionality not only helps us understand the different communities we belong to, but it also helps us understand how those communities are oppressed in different ways by different institutions.
