Set in prohibition-era New York, former-private detective Nick and his socialite wife, Nora, become embroiled in a murder investigation, eventually solving the case, but not before crossing paths with the outrageous Wynant family.

The Thin Man served as the basis for six films featuring Nick and Nora Charles, including After the Thin Man and Shadow of the Thin Man, as well as for a Thin Man radio show, television series, and Broadway musical. Nick and Nora’s trademark banter popularized their appeal, and evolved them into an archetype for future detective couples.
