This 38th issue of the serial was published on July 20th, 1880. Other highlights of this issue include a how-it's-made-style description of pearls in "Pearls -- Real and Imitation"; a natural history of amazing "Beetles" from around the world; and, the second part in "The Story of the American Navy" which describes some of the naval battles of the Revolutionary War. This periodical was published by Harper & Brothers, known today for their publications Harper's Bazaar and Harper's Magazine.
